Some customers have approached us after having a bad experience with a PDR cowboy, or even after attempting to do the job themselves with a DIY kit purchased online. Unfortunately, this often causes additional and unnecessary damage to the car body, making it difficult for even an expert to repair. In some cases, even if the dent has been removed, irreversible damage will be visible on the paintwork; meaning whole new parts may need to be purchased, i.e. more time, hassle and expenditure for you. Other DIY methods found with a simple search online, such as using dry ice and hot glue, are [...]

Car owners everywhere hate hail. When it makes an appearance what do you do? You could put your vehicle in your garage, but what if you don’t own one?
You’ll be left listening to the banging of hail bouncing off your car without knowing when it will stop and what your car will look like afterward.

Worldwide hail costs car owners millions in damage costs. In the UK we thankfully don’t suffer with it very often but when it does arrive and once the damage is there there’s no way round it, time certainly won’t heal a dent – only the UK’s number one will.

What is paintless dent removal?

Paintless dent repair is a popular method used to remove minor dents, but certainly needs a professional to ensure that the finished result is of the highest standard. Our technicians will assess the damaged area and decide the best way to gain access from behind your vehicle’s panel. In some cases, when the dent is out of reach, work may need to be completed from the front of the panel. Our experienced technicians will always look to use our specialised tools to gently massage the affected bodywork into place first, which enables us to complete the work in a gentle and cost effective way.

Lets be honest, there is rarely a situation where a dent is convenient, but dent removal can certainly be made easier with help from the experts.

Driving back and fourth from work is not only a chore in itself, but the morning commute can come with its share of unforeseen incidents. There is the risk of heavy traffic, breaking down and the possibility of a fellow commuter knocking into your vehicle, leaving you with the task of finding your nearest dent removal experts.

The biggest problem with receiving a dent on the way to work or an appointment can be the amount of disruption it causes to the rest of your day. Attempting to have a minor dent repaired while completing everyday tasks too is not easy. There are two main approaches to Paintless Dent Removal (PDR), these consist of glue pulling or glue PDR and pushing from behind the panel. Both these methods are popular and have a successful track record- but is one technique a better solution then the other when trying to remove unsightly minor dents?

Both approaches have a solid reputation, which is backed up by PDR technicians having plenty to say about the use of each method. However, naturally, there are arguments both for and against each approach. So what do we think?

Glue pulling: This involves exactly as it describes, gently pulling out dents from the front. [...]

‘I’ve got a dent in my company car’ is one of the last sentences that you’ll ever want to have to utter to your superior or colleagues. Having new business wheels seems to attract a fair share of damage and your company vehicle can become a magnet to minor dents.

Although your employer should have a corporate insurance policy it can still be an embarrassing conversation to have if you’ve dented a company car, especially if this isn’t the first or second time! Fortunately, there are ways in which you can avoid acquiring the odd ding here or there such as parking in an end space, parking on a drive or garage rather than in the street and leaving your car further away from the shops- yes this means an extra walk, but you’re far less likely to incur any damages.

If you have suffered damage we know how exasperating it can be when you’re blamed [...]

Sadly Minor dents don’t just ‘pop out’ as many people may assume. Instead, our premium paintless dent removal method involves finding the right access behind your panel; once we have the correct location our expert staff can accurately knead and direct the depression out with the use of specialised tools.

Unlike a bodyshop, in the vast majority of cases we can repair your dent and restore your car to its original factory finish without the need for re-spraying. Our technicians will not use the following methods when performing PDR on your minor dents:

Filler: Although car body filler is formulated to not shrink, it is entirely dependant on factors such as; temperature, mixing process, hardener to paste ratio and metal surface preparation. In the event that you have had a panel filled incorrectly to conceal a dent, you may be subject to shrinkage around the edges or bubbling.

Re-spraying: When you’ve had your vehicle painted [...]

As dent repair experts, we would cheekily name this blog the ‘DIY dent removal’. But in all sincerity, attempting PDR yourself when you haven’t been fully trained or hiring an amateur technician will more often than not lead to disaster. It doesn’t take much for a small ding to become larger and more unsightly than previously perceived and much like you wouldn’t build your house yourself (unless you’re familiar with construction) or hire a cowboy builder, paintless dent repair is best left to the professionals for no less than perfect results.

The image below portrays the inside of a door that has received numerous holes in the doorjambs. Not only was the operator unsuccessful in removing the blemish with paintless dent removal techniques, but they also failed to seal the drilled metal appropriately leaving it likely to rust. This unprofessional job resulted in having a whole new door fitted by a bodyshop and could have [...]
